Jeddah, December 2, 2021 — His Excellency the Deputy Minister for Communications and Infrastructure for MICT, Engr. Bassam bin Abdullah Al Bassam, visited the Salam Cable Landing Station (CLS) in Jeddah. Eng. Osama bin Ibrahim Al-Dosary, Salam CEO, along with other Salam officials, welcomed the Deputy Minister to the cable landing facility which connects Salam and Saudi Arabia to the world via submarine fiber optic cables.
The Deputy Minister praised Salam’s pivotal role in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and its support for the Ministry’s efforts to develop the Kingdom’s telecommunication network in line with Vision 2030. He stressed the importance of a well developed digital infrastructure in accelerating digital transformation and fueling economic renaissance under the Kingdom’s wise leadership.
Eng. Osama Al-Dosary expressed his great appreciation for the visit of His Excellency the Deputy Minister, who acknowledged Salam’s role in providing the latest integrated infrastructure services for the telecom and ICT sectors, ensuring seamless international connectivity, high quality and efficiency. He also explained how the Salam Cable Landing Station connects to the Saudi National Fiber Network (SNFN) – the advanced 19,000-kilometer fiber optic network connecting all major cities in the Kingdom.
